Jack Pine Brewery Bottle Lamp

Jack Pine Beer Growler Table Lamp

The Jack Pine Brewery Lamp was the culmination of micro brewery obsession and wanting to transcend the beer growlers that are unique to each brewery. This cool growler came all the way from Brainerd, Minnesota, and has a feel that I always associate with ‘Home’.

If there’s a beer growler collecting dust in your house, why not give it a second life and make that keepsake a mainstay.

Turn a Jack Daniels Bottle into a Lamp

Jack Daniel's Bottle Lamp

You really can’t go wrong with the distinctive style of the Jack Daniel’s bottle. Turning this whiskey decanter into a bottle lamp was a snap given that you have a nice flat surface to drill into. The trick with this lamp is finding the right shade to pair with it. Silke simply added a little extra decor to the bottom of the Black & White lampshade you see in the photograph above. Voila!

Bottle Lamp For A Mission Trip

Mapped Bottle Lamp For Fundraiser

Our daughter wanted to go on a Mission Trip to Mexico so making a little keepsake was inspired by her desire to explore her world. This bottle really got its direction once I ‘Mod Podged‘ the map onto the bottle. Perfect for the travel lover in your family.

You could also try a newspaper page, the funny pages, or any type of printed material, to create a unique lamp for that book lover who likes to stay up late reading.

Fabulous 5 Bottle Lamp Projects

Classy Wine Bottle Lamp

This article about five bottle lamp projects was put together in a nice little package. It showcases the different labels and lamp shade combinations that were used. Sometimes it’s more that just a color scheme.

You can accentuate the labels themselves with styles that draw your eye to the bottle itself. Your imagination is your only limitation! Be sure to click the link above to check out our list of five fabulous recycled bottle lamps.

Caribou Coffee Growler Bottle Lamp

Caribou Coffee Growler Lamp

I mentioned the micro brewery obsession earlier in this article, the same can be said with coffee growlers.

Who doesn’t love a good ‘Cup of Joe’? The Caribou Coffee Clear Glass Growler I saw in the coffee shop was practically screaming at me to help it along to it’s new re-purposed life. Using actual coffee beans as a filler, I was able to literally make the printed glass label come to life! The matching coffee colored lamp shade was the icing on the cake.

Pink Floyd Wine Bottle Lamp

Recycled Wine Bottle Lamp

How can you not like Pink Floyd? Sure… the wine distributor had other bands on their labels, but we loved this one and it was easy to work with. Once again Silke added that extra bling, glass beads that look like diamonds, to the bottom of the lamp shade.

Adding extra dimensions really helps to set any wine bottle lamp apart. Plus I added some glow in the dark stars on the top of the lampshade that continue to illuminate the room long after we shut the lamp off. “Shine on you crazy diamonds!”

Captain Morgan Table Lamp

If you’ve seen one liquor lamp you’ve pretty much seen them all. Not so. Each bottle’s shape and label style creates a new palette for you to work with.

Matching the marble filler to the original contents of the bottle, spiced rum, and pairing the correct style lamp shade with this Captain Morgan decanter made it the perfect bounty for any pirate. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh, my mateys!

Chalk Board Bottle Lamp

Chalk Board Bottle Lamp With LED Lights

Long before people started painting their whole rooms with chalk board paint we set out to make a bottle lamp.  The chalk board bottle lamp in the picture above conveys the message that was on our mind at the moment.

From clever sayings to simply offering well wishes, this lighted bottle is easy to make and it’s perfect for anyone that is convalescent or in need of a little enlightenment.

How To Make A Bottle Lamp DIY Tutorial

A simple break down of the bottle lamp making process. One of the things that set this particular bottle lamp apart was the filler that was used. We spent an afternoon collecting lava rocks at the beach in Hawai’i (it is staying on the island as a gift to our landlady) and each one rock was sized up to make sure it would actually fit in the neck of the bottle.

The second thing that sets this bottle lamp apart is the fact that we deviated from using the rubber neck holders that come with the bottle lamp kit. Instead, we opted to use the original bottle cap that came with the bottle. Once the hole was drilled through the lid, we were able to place the lamp post through it and wire the lamp together. The outcome was the perfect addition to the bedroom nightstand!

How To Frost A Bottle Lamp

In this fun video we show you how to frost a glass bottle. We put together a cleaned, clear bottle with lights for the Christmas season, but the same concept applies to the bottle lamp making process as well. Simply add a bottle lamp kit to your recycled bottle. With the right gel stickers and some imagination you to can decorate any bottle for any occasion.

Old Crow Reserve Bottle Lamp

Our last DIY bottle lamp idea was put together as a gift for a family member. I really liked the way the lamp turned out, simple and masculine. It didn’t take long before I had the perfect place to ‘stage’ the photos that I took of it. It was easy to envision the intended user quietly sitting by the glow of this recycled bottle lamp while he enjoyed his favorite book.

These DIY Bottle Lamp Ideas are just a few of the many recycled bottle projects Silke and I have put together over the years.
