Captain Morgans Table Lamp Contest

Several weeks ago we published a video to show you how to make a bottle lamp like the Captain Morgan one you see here.

It was a Jack Daniels bottle that we gave to Nick’s brother for his birthday back in April.

Click here to watch the Jack Daniels bottle lamp video!

We made another hand crafted lamp using a recycled Captain Morgan bottle.  One lucky winner will win this table lamp.

  1. This is a great lamp. I would like to win it for my boyfriend, Captain Coke is his fave drink.

  2. I’ve got a little Captain in me! Cap’t and diet is mine and my girlfriends beverage of choice when we aren’t drinking red wine. Our project now is to indulge in some of our favorites and save the bottles to make some terrific projects that you have been so kind to share!

  3. Arrrggg…why should i win ye old pirate lamp? Cuz me an the Captain share many a moment together and between his ruggedly good looks and liquid courage he tends to bring me i know that with a lamp like that illuminating my room i could make many a memory. …..and besided i your friggen Sister lol (:

  4. This is an AWESOME lamp, original and cute!!! I would like to win it for my husband’s birthday. I love your video/tutorial on you tube.
    Thanks!

  5. OOOOOOOOOH, that would be just the tying link to the pub room my husband is creating. We have searched for Captain Morgan pieces … the theme of the pub room will be somewhat pirate … my husband was a seaman in the Royal Navy for over a dozen years, and his red hair and red moustache and beard give him a bit of a pirate look! Plus the British accent. Hoping to bring a bit of ‘nasty’ to our home … AAAARGH, Matey!

  6. My Boyfriend and I have been drinking Captain for over 7 years!!!! And I would love to give this to him for being an amazing dad to our kids and an amazing boyfriend to whom I couldn’t live without!!!! He has taught me to look at life in a whole different perspective!!!!

  7. I think this lamp would be so much fun to have. Our family loves to laugh and this would fit right in.

  8. I want to win for my best friend! Her and her hubby have a pirate bar set out in the garage and this would be the PERFECT gift.

  9. What a cool lamp. I dressed up as the Captain last Halloween and won first price. Winning this lamp would be awesome. Arrgh!

  10. I am upset that my friend Kathy said she would give it to me if she won and then she did not even sign up. :(

    1. Sam,

I used the Westinghouse #70025 Make A Lamp Kit (fourth item from the top on our supplies page). This kit contains three different sized rubber spacers that can be used in the neck of the bottle. The middles one fits the closest but you might have to add so dimension to it to make it fit securely. This can be accomplished with a strand of duct tape that’s torn to the width of the rubber ring.
